There are few options for Python coding on Chromebooks. It is not as easy as doing it with Windows, or a Mac, but it is doable.
Doing a quick check out the Web, I found 2 options, one is easy, while the other takes more work.
Use a browser based Python code editor. There are a few out there. I found http://pythonfiddle.com/ and it works pretty well. I don’t know if you can run Python gui based programs with it, but you can write lots of Python code and even save it.
Install Python on your Chromebook. This will require more work but I imagine, you have much more flexibility since you can run the Python code directly on the Chromebook. Here is an article that will give you the step-by-step:

It has taken us 6-7 years to polish our app and curriculum, but StudioWeb has been refined to be amazingly easy to teach a code class with … so, there isn’t much prep required. Teachers are happy to discover how quickly they feel comfortable leading a code class with StudioWeb.

- You can do the course(s) as a student does them … to get familiar. Since StudioWeb has a powerful hinting system … students can never get stuck, which means you never have to answer code questions. So even doing this is not really required.
- Since SW does all the grading automatically, you don’t even need to grade!

I am excited to announce our upcoming Python course: Beginners Python 3.
A beginners course covering Python 3, students go from an absolute beginner, to having a working knowledge of object oriented Python. Course is based on Python 3.6.

Our new course ‘Beginners Python 3’ will be out soon!
